Human Placenta. A Distinctive Origin.

Human placenta is a highly specialized organ studied for its extracellular vesicles and regulatory microRNAs. SOLUTION C19-MC™ uses human placental source material provided by Japan Bio Products Co., Ltd. (JBP).

The scientific context of placental EVs is distinct from the characterization observations made with this specific product.

The C19MC miRNA Cluster

C19MC is a large, placenta-associated microRNA gene cluster on chromosome 19. C19MC miRNAs have been identified in extracellular vesicles released by placental trophoblasts.

These statements describe published placental biology. They do not, by themselves, establish the quantity or activity of individual C19MC miRNAs in SOLUTION C19-MC™.

TOM20: A Window into Mitochondrial Biology

TOM20 is a receptor component of the mitochondrial outer-membrane protein import machinery and is widely used as a marker associated with mitochondrial abundance or status. The following values represent relative TOM20 levels reported under the indicated evaluation conditions.

Observation

Higher relative TOM20 levels were observed in the C19-MC and combination conditions than in control.

Biological Context

TOM20 is associated with mitochondrial protein import and is used in mitochondrial biology research.

Interpretation

The observed changes may reflect mitochondrial abundance or status. These results do not independently demonstrate improved mitochondrial function, mitophagy, or clinical benefit.

TGF-β

A multifunctional cytokine involved in cell growth, differentiation, immune regulation, and other cellular processes.

VEGF

A signaling protein involved in vascular biology and endothelial cell responses.

Selected biological factors, including TGF-β and VEGF, were measured during the evaluation. Quantitative results are not presented on this page.
